Terms of service
Effective 15 August 2026 · Last updated 15 August 2026
The short version
- Carpoolish helps families organise who is driving. It does not provide transport, and it does not vet drivers. Who drives your child is your decision.
- Imported schedules are read by AI and can be wrong. Check them.
- It is free while we are getting going. If that changes, you will hear about it well beforehand.
- Be decent to the other families. Do not use another family's information for anything other than the carpool.
- You can leave whenever you like and take your data with you.
These terms are an agreement between you and Headquarters for AI (“we”, “us”), a [ENTITY TYPE] registered in [STATE/COUNTRY] — to confirm, covering your use of Carpoolish at carpoolish.ai. Please read section 5 particularly carefully — it is the one that matters most.

1. Agreeing to these terms
Creating an account or using Carpoolish means you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. If you are agreeing on behalf of a club or a league, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
2. Who may use Carpoolish
You must be 18 or older and be a parent, guardian or responsible adult for the children you add. Children do not get accounts. By adding a child you confirm you have the authority to provide their information and to arrange their transport.
If you add another adult to your household, you confirm they agree to their details being shared with families you carpool with.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information. A wrong address or phone number in a carpool app is not a harmless typo.
- Keep your password to yourself, and tell us at info@hqforai.com if you think somebody else has access.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Your calendar feed link is a private credential. Anyone holding it can see your driving schedule. You can revoke it at any time from Account → Calendar sync.
4. Your content
Everything you put into Carpoolish — your family details, schedules, messages — stays yours. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, transmit and display it solely so the service can work: showing your schedule to your team, sending your driving to your calendar, extracting events from a file you upload.
That licence exists for no other purpose. We do not use your content to advertise to you, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models.
Only upload material you are entitled to upload. A team schedule from your club is fine. Somebody else's private document is not.
5. What Carpoolish is not
Carpoolish is a coordination tool. It is not a transport service, a ride-hailing service, or a childcare service.
We do not employ, contract, supervise, train or direct any driver. We do not run background checks, verify driving licences, inspect vehicles, confirm insurance, or check that anyone is fit to drive. We are not a party to any arrangement you make with another family. We do not carry insurance covering your journeys.
Deciding who may drive your child is yours alone. Carpoolish shows you what other families have told it. It does not verify any of it, and a name appearing in this app is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or any kind of assurance about that person.
You are responsible for satisfying yourself about any driver before your child travels with them, for meeting the child-restraint and licensing laws where you live, and for arranging your own insurance. The booster-seat prompt in the app is a convenience based on the birth year you entered, not legal advice — the law where you live is what governs.
In an emergency, contact the emergency services. Carpoolish is not monitored and must not be relied on to raise an alarm.
6. Imported schedules and AI
Carpoolish can read a schedule out of a calendar link, a file, an email or a photograph. Structured calendar files are parsed exactly; everything else is interpreted by an AI model, and interpretation can be wrong — a misread time, a missed event, the wrong year on a date with no year in it.
This is why the app shows you what it found and asks you to confirm before anything is added. Check imported schedules before relying on them. We are not responsible for a missed or mistimed trip caused by an extraction you did not check.
7. How to behave
Do not:
- Use another family's address, phone number or child's name for anything other than arranging the carpool it was shared for.
- Harass, threaten or abuse anyone, in team chat or anywhere else.
- Join a team you have no connection to, or add a child who is not in your care.
- Scrape, bulk-download, or attempt to reach data belonging to families you do not carpool with.
- Probe, disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, or work around its rate limits.
- Upload malware, or anything unlawful.
We can remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where the safety of a child is at stake we will act immediately and ask questions afterwards.
8. Price, and what happens when it changes
Carpoolish is free while we are getting started, including the plan that would otherwise be paid. There is no card on file and nothing to cancel.
When paid plans begin, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before anything you use starts costing money, and you will never be charged without explicitly agreeing to it first. The free tier described on our pricing page will remain free.
9. Availability and change
Carpoolish is early software and is offered as it is. We may add, change or remove features, and there will be times when it is unavailable. We do not promise a particular level of uptime. We will not remove a feature families depend on without telling them.
10. Ending it
You may delete your account at any time from Account → Delete my account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we are required to, or if we stop offering the service — in which case we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
Sections 4, 5, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 survive the end of this agreement.
11. Our intellectual property
Carpoolish, its name, logo, design and software belong to Headquarters for AI. These terms give you permission to use the service, not to copy it. Product names belonging to other companies — team management platforms, calendar apps and the rest — belong to their owners; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or integrated with any of them.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, Carpoolish is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that schedules will be extracted correctly, that notifications will arrive, or that any driver is safe, insured or licensed.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, in which case they do not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of your use of Carpoolish.
We are not liable for anything that happens during a journey, including accidents, injury, delay, or the conduct of any driver, passenger or family — because we do not provide, arrange, supervise or vet transport. See section 5.
Our total liability for any claim relating to Carpoolish is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Headquarters for AI against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your use of Carpoolish, your content, your breach of these terms, or any transport arrangement you make with another family.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE/COUNTRY] — to confirm, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be brought in the courts of [VENUE] — to confirm, and we each consent to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.
Before filing anything, please email us. Nearly everything is resolvable in a conversation.
16. Odds and ends
- If a provision is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
- Not enforcing something once does not waive it.
- You may not transfer this agreement; we may transfer it as part of a merger or sale of the business, on notice to you.
- These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us.
- We will post material changes here and tell you in the app before they take effect.
